The Vancouver Sun spoke to Malcolm Darroch, who has a lunch club consisting of six retirees from the North Shore who meet once a week for a meal.
Club member Darcie Prosser recommended the Kisamos Greek Taverna at 3240 Moncton Street. She described the roast lamb as "superb", adding: "Quaint and small. One meal is sufficient for two of us to share."
Neighbourhood Noodle House, Roman Ristorante, Tang's Noodle House and Gramma's Marine Pub were some other eateries they enjoy.
However, the group's favourite is the Red Chili Szechuan Restaurant on Lonsdale Avenue, which Mr Darroch said serves excellent hot and sour soup, as well as great Singapore noodles and Mongolian beef.
Holidaymakers looking for meals on the go could visit the Meat & Bread sandwich shop, which the publication described as making "juicy and delicious" food.
