Many people who travel for long periods of time, for example on gap years, want to give something back to the countries they visit, something those with Ethiopian Airlines flights to Addis Ababa might want to consider.
Laura Greenman, managing director of Magnetic North Travel, explained there is plenty of volunteering work people can do while overseas.
She asserted that a gap year is an excellent time for people to learn.
However, Ms Greenman added: "Whether it is a gap year or not … that experience will influence you when you come back home or start your studies or work."
The expert noted that many people who head abroad for a long time hope they will be able to "do something meaningful" while travelling.
Earlier this month, author Dan Cruickshanks told the Daily Telegraph that Ethiopia was one of his favourite destinations, citing the culture and the people as two of the main attractions.
