The sixth instalment of the gathering is scheduled to take place between October 21st and 31st and the theme this year is "Leadership - Next Generation".
Charles Asiba, festival director said: "These are challenging times for many African countries and we want to give African's an opportunity to tell the world and to express what their thoughts on leadership are."
In 2011, more than 250 movies are set to be shown at venues across the country.
Screenings will be put on in Mombasa, Nairobi, Kisumu and Eldoret and they will be split in six categories - long features, documentaries, short features, student films, animation and experimental films.
Awards will be given out to the outstanding movies in each of these categories.
While in Nairobi, jetsetters may want to take to the streets on October 30th to watch some of the nation's top athletes compete in the Nairobi Marathon.
