Interlink Airlines of South Africa, based at Johannesburg's international airport is reported to entering into the final stages of liquidation.
Currently the airline is not flying any of its scheduled services and the staff have all been sent home said local newspaper reports. There is the possibility that an administrator will be able to rescue all or part of the company but at this time the future looks uncertain.

The failure comes almost exactly 100 days before South Africa plays host to the FIFA soccer World Cup when thousands of fans will be travelling to and within South Africa. Prior to cessation of flyingh Interlink flew regular flights on both international and domestic routes serving, Cape Town, Durban, Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Pretoria (Wonderboom Airport), Bujumbura (Burundi) and Jeddah (Saudi Arabia).
