ICELAND EXPRESS announces new flight Reykjavik to New York

Starting June 2010, Iceland Express will fly out four times a week from Reykjavik’s Keflavik International Airport to Newark Airport, New York City. The flights will be operated on Boeing 757 aircraft.

“Iceland Express continues to grow for our UK customers, from our recent introduction of Akureyri as a second Icelandic destination point, to now offering a low cost alternative to traditional flights to New York,” says Matthias Imsland, Iceland Express CEO. “This is an extremely exciting development for us. In the past, a flight to New York via Iceland was one of the cheapest ways to visit the Big Apple. By bringing back this option to the UK market, we hope to entice more consumers to choose Iceland Express, whether they want to discover the glacial beauty and vibrant culture of Iceland, or take a low-cost trip to New York.”

Iceland Express has recently re-launched its operation from London Stansted and will be commencing flights from Birminham International Airport to Reykjavik and London Gatwick to Akureyri in summer 2010. - Ends - About Iceland Express Iceland Express is Iceland's low-fare airline connecting the Icelandic capital of Reykjavík with 19 airports in Europe including Copenhagen, London, Alicante, Basel, Berlin, Billund, Eindhoven, Frankfurt Hahn, Friedrichshafen, Gothenburg, Paris, Barcelona and Warsaw.
