Iceland Express

Iceland Express

Iceland Express is Iceland’s only low cost airline.

Iceland Express Flights

Iceland Express is the great little airline, launched in 2002, which smashed the monopoly of Icelandair and brought down the cost of air travel to Iceland. Iceland Express is based in Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik, and flies to 15 destinations across Europe. The two flag-ship routes are from Iceland to London Stansted and Copenhagen, both of which operate year round and increase to twice daily during the summer months.

Iceland Express Low Cost Pioneers

This is a fantastic little airline with huge backing from one of Iceland’s giant corporations. Without doubt Iceland is a country which everyone should visit at least once in their lifetime and Iceland Express is the coolest way to fly there. With fares at prices often half of the cost of more traditional airlines and with none of the inconveniences of many low cost carriers (yes, you can pre allocate seats or get them at check-in; no, you don’t have to pay for checked-in baggage; yes, the in flight crew are polite and smile and want to help you in anyway they can !).

(Having flown with Iceland Express over the 2008 New Year we can personally and unreservedly recommend them ..ed.)

Iceland Express uses a fleet of MD 90 aircraft with approximately 165 seats. The on-board service is classically Icelandic with no fuss, lots of smiles and some of the best cheese and ham toasted baguettes available anywhere in the skies!
