Baggage Policy

Horizon allows you to bring 1 piece of carry-on baggage and an additional personal item. Horizon Air has a different policy for carry-on baggage and checked baggage.

Carry-on Baggage

Horizon lets you bring 1 carry-on bag and an additional personal item such as a briefcase, laptop or tote bag. Carry-on baggage mustn't exceed 9" x 14" x 22" (23 x 36 x 56 cm) including wheels and handles.

Please ensure that you don't pack any prohibited items in your carry-on baggage such as liquids over 100ml. Any prohibited items packed in your carry-on bag will be removed and disposed of by airport security.

Checked Baggage

Checked baggage is not complimentary. You can purchase checked baggage at the time of booking and pre-booking. Each checked baggage mustn't exceed 50 lbs and 62 in dimensions (linear).

Any checked baggage that exceeds Horizons baggage policy will be charged an excess baggage.

Check-In

Horizon Air lets you check in online 24 hours prior to your flight scheduled time. Alternatively, you can check-in at the airport.

Online Check-in

Passengers can check-in online and print their boarding passes from 24 hours prior to the flight departure. Online check-in closes one hour prior to scheduled departure. We recommend that you check-in online in order to avoid long queues at the airport.

Airport Check-in

Passengers must be checked in with a valid boarding pass and at the gate no later than 30 minutes before flight departure (40 minutes for international).

Horizon Air frequent flyer programme is called 'Mileage Plan.

Mileage Plan

Horizon operates a frequent flyer program called Mileage Plan to reward regular travellers with the airline. Mileage Plan is the travel rewards program of the Alaska Air Group. MVP and MVP Gold are Mileage Plan's top tiers for experienced travellers.

Horizon Air to operate more flights using its E175 on behalf of sister airline Alaska Airlines

The addition of the E175 jet (which will be operated by Horizon Air) will give Alaska Airlines the ability to increase daily flight scheduled on the route between Anchorage (ANC) and Fairbanks (FAI). The airline will now also be able to provide a year-round service to King Salmon (AKN) and Dillingham (DLG). With 76 seats, the smaller E175 jets are an ideal size for flying to more remote communities.

Class Fares

The seating available depends on the aircraft being operated.

De Havilland Canada Dash 8-400: This aircraft is high-speed, high-wing turboprop, operrated in a single class configuration. There are 76 seats in total, all of which are upholstered in leather. These seats are padded and comfortable, but are non-reclining.

The Embraer E175: This larger plane has a three-class configuration (first class, premium class, and main cabin) with 76 in total. All seats are upholstered in leather and recline seats. The premium (business) section of the aircraft has two seats either side of the aisle, the first class section has three seats in total, with a single seat on one side of the aisle and two seats on the other.
