Holidaymakers with a passion for Latin American music may want to book Avianca flights to Columbia for the Festival of the Vallenata Legend.
The event occurs every year and features a variety of different styles, including paseo, meringue and son.
Son is particularly popular in Cuba and it is a blend of traditional Spanish sounds with African rhythm and percussion.
Musicians from around the country travel to Valledupar to compete in the contests held, which include the Conjunto Tapico de Musica, which sees one person recognised as the best accordionist.
There is also a gong for the overall winner, who will be crowned the Vallenato King.
