People with a love of the stage may want to book Cubana flights in October so they can take part in the Havana Theatre Festival.

Organised by the National Performing Arts Ministry of Culture of Cuba, the festivities get underway on October 28th and last until November 6th.

Plays will be put on to cater to a range of different audiences, from adults to children.

In addition to performances put on by theatre groups from Cuba, there will also be a number of international actors putting on shows during this period.

Visitors to the Caribbean nation will also have the opportunity to sign up to workshops and conferences held as part of the festival.

According to its official website, the aim of the festival is "to be a space to promote the theatre as an art of resistance, an art that continues to defend the possibility of human exchange".

The National Theater of Cuba, which may host some of the shows, was built in 1973 and it features two main stages.
