Mandala Airlines, the independent Indonesian Airline has suspended all flights from January 13th 2011.

The reason given for suspension of flights was due to financial difficulties. Transportation Minister Freddy Numberi has ordered Mandala Airlines to immediately refund the tickets of its abandoned passengers.
Mandala operated scheduled services to 3 international (Hong Kong, Macau and Singapore) and 17 domestic destinationsits operation. Mandala is one of the oldest airlines in Indonesia, launched 1969 . The news coincides with the announcement from State owned competitor, Garuda Indonesia will stregthen its financial position through the sale of a total of 36.47 percent or 9.4 billion of its shares through an initial public offering on February 11.
