Garuda Indonesia, the growing national carrier of Indonesia, has announced plans to make its low cost domestic subsidairy, CitiLink, independent through a flotation on the Indonesian stock market.
The process will start with an application for CitiLink to be granted its own operating licence.
CitiLink is a low cots domestic carrier which was launched in 2001 and has succeeded in developing services to the very competitive domestic aviation market. Citilink currently operates 10 modern jet aircraft and plans to add a further 10 Airbuses by the end of 2011.
In recent years Garuda has completely turned its business around with a new focus on customer service quality. It is now one of the world's few Five Star airlines as awarded by the consumer review web site, SkyTrax.
