Gap Adventures launches new Homestay programme

People travelling to Cuba now have an alternative option when it comes to finding accommodation.

If people want to book Cubana flights and experience a gap year in Cuba, there is a new type of accommodation option that may suit them down to the ground.

Gap Adventures is launching a programme called Homestay, which will be available to travellers from March 1st.

Cubana AirlinesIt allows them to experience what life in Cuba may really be like instead of staying in a hostel or hotel.

The firm's destination manager for Central America and Caribbean Leah Griffin said: "Through homestays our travellers connect directly with a local family by enjoying home-cooked meals and staying overnight in their home."

Gap Adventure offers a 15-day package that allows people to experience a number of different activities during their time in the country, such as snorkelling, listening to live music, dancing and hiking.

While in Cuba, individuals may want to follow the advice of the Cuban News Agency and check out the city's Drum Festival, which will be held from March 8th to 13th.
