Formula One fans to book Spice Jet flights to India

Fans of Formula One could be preparing to book trips to Delhi with SpiceJet as India prepares to host its first race in Uttar Pradesh.

Flights to DelhiThe event is scheduled to take place between October 28th and 30th and the circuit will be 5.14 km in length.

It was designed by German architect Hermann Tilke and its hairpin bends at the end of the long straights and a rise of 14 m in the first three turns promise to make it a challenging race.

There will be a seating capacity of up to 150,000 at the Buddh International Circuit in Greater Noida, but there are plans to increase this to 200,000 for future races.

Commenting on the development, union tourism minister Kumari Selja said at a conference organised by the World Travel & Tourism Council: "India is gearing up to organise its first Formula One race in October 2011 in Uttar Pradesh. Our effort is to continuously upgrade the tourism infrastructure."
