Fly 540 Tanzania will on Monday launch direct flights between Nairobi and Dar es Salaam with a 50 seater CRJ 100 jet aircraft. There will be seven flights a week - two flights a day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday, plus one flight on Sunday.

Fly540 Tanzania General Manager, Brown Francis said that apart from these direct flights between Nairobi and Dar es Salaam, Five Forty Aviation has been operating between Nairobi and Kilimanjaro for the past two years.
He said that Fly540 Tanzania's aim at delivering value for money without compromising on safety and quality.
Tight control over operating costs allows the company to provide cheaper fare so that travel becomes affordable for more people and ensure that air travel is not just for the elite, he said.
He said that the company is offering a special introduction fare of USD 299 (inclusive of taxes) between Dar es Salaam and Nairobi, which will be valid until the end of next month and that the offer is a return ticket.
He said that morning flight departs Dar es Salaam at 11am and the evening flight departs at 6.30pm, adding that on Sundays there will be one departure in the evening.
He said that the company recently signed a contract with Galileo by Travelport, a global distribution company to provide travel agents with its schedules and fares on their reservations system.
The company also has a partnership with Air Arabia, another low cost carrier to connect passengers from Nairobi to Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates and into many destinations in India and the Middle East.
"We believe there's a gap to be filled in the Dar es Salaam-Nairobi market for a budget airline offering low fares and a convenient reliable schedule," said Mr Francis.
He said that the company expects the market to react favourably to our product and hope that we will be able to increase flights not only on this route, but to other cities within Tanzania in the near future.
