We have just added Fly540 to the growing list of low costs carriers available to book through the Alternative Airlines price and Availability display.
This means that for the first time it is possible to quickly compare the amazing low cost fares of this dynamic Kenyan based airline with the more traditional airlines operating within East Africa... and some of the savings are massive. For example Nairobi to Entebbe, one way on 01st April using Fly 540 is currently £52.42 including taxes compared with the same flight, same day on Air Uganda at £153.70 including taxes .. ie a saving of over £100 !!
This is just the start of a revolution within the region, Fly540's services already cover Kenya (naturally!), Uganda,Tanzania and Burundi but soon we believe that there will be Fly540 subsidiaries flying in Angola, Zimbabwe and Ghana - all places where the UK based parent company Lonrho have interests.
Fly 540 presently operates a fleet of 3 ATR 42s, one Bombardier Dash 8, one Beechcraft 1900D, 2 Fokker 27 Cargo, and one CRJ 200. Additional CRJs and ATRs are due to join the fleet this year to facilitate the airline’s expansion drive.
We will be working closely in the future with this professionally-run, expanding airline and expect it to become one of Africa's airline winners in the race for passengers as Africa's air travel market open ups to less regulation and more carriers.
