A trip to the Old Town in Mombasa will prove a worthwhile excursion for those with Fly540 flights to Kenya booked.
This is according to Angie Sloan, Kenya Tourist Board UK director, who said there are numerous attractions for visitors to the area, such as the "art, antiques and ancient architecture".
Figures from the tourist board indicate that many foreign travellers are recognising the value of Kenya as a holiday destination, with the first quarter of the year attracting a record number of arrivals, up 40 per cent on the 2010 figures.
"Mombasa's Old Town is definitely worth exploring and reflects the city's rich history as a settlement, which dates back to the 13th century," Ms Sloan stated.
She noted that the Arabic influences on the area are "clearly visible" in this part of the town, which she recommended exploring on foot.
For those who are interested in purchasing keepsakes and souvenirs of their holiday, the Old Town was identified as a great destination.
