It’s Friday and its been a busy week including a really interesting visit to Birmingham Airport including loads of insight into how to develop traffic during a downturn from Marc, the (very bright) Business Development Manager and a the previously blogged meeting with EuroAtlantic.
Bright spot in the on-line sales has been the return of sales to Tehran following the end of the recent political unrest and the launch of new dramatically lower fares on the direct Iran Air service from Heathrow (Tehran returns from £300 plus taxes, total £377.40, other domestic destinations with connections in Tehran for suplement of £40.00 return, available on line from Monday). No air travel for me this week, but I am hoping to try the regional service of Air Southwest from Gatwick to Plymouth sometime soon and we are hosting an evening for Papua New Guinea tourism next week where we will be persuading people to fly on the National ailirne, Air Niugini.
