Angeles City in the Philippines is working on schemes to improve its tourism offerings, those with flights to Manila may be interested to learn.
The conurbation is situated north of the capital and its mayor has revealed that steps are being taken to improve what is on offer to visitors, reports the Philippine Information Agency.
Edgardo Pamintuan said during his State of the City address: "Because of the big contribution of tourism to our city's economy and to the welfare of the people, we will be creating the Angeles City Tourism Commission."
According to government, the authorities are hoping to make the metropolis a hub for sports and tourism.
It also suggested that the new plans could see Angeles City become the nation's capital for culinary excellence, something that may well tempt jetsetters with Philippine Airlines flights to the country to make the trip from Manila.
