One expert has explained why it is so important for people to check every detail of their travel insurance policy.

According to insight analyst for general insurance at Defaqto Mike Powell, it is important for holidaymakers to check the final details of their policy.
This is because there are so many different offers around and they need to ensure they get the correct cover for their needs.
He advised individuals to take stock of any expensive items they may be taking with them and check their policy will offer protection in case they are lost or stolen.
Mr Powell continued by noting there are more than 1,000 different policy variants for annual and single trip cover.
"It is quite a mine field for consumers to look at and find out what is available," he stated.
These comments come after research conducted by Defaqto found that while 81 per cent of policies provide cover of £1,000 or more for personal belongings on holiday, only 11 per cent offer a single item limit of over £350.
