Holidaymakers considering whether or not to book flights to Tehran may be interested to learn that one expert has claimed that "exotic" destinations can offer a more "genuine travel experience".
Jonny Bealby, managing director of Wild Frontiers Adventure Travel, said in a piece for the Daily Telegraph that there has been a rise in interest in trips to destinations such as Iran.
He asserted that the country has enjoyed an increase in the number of bookings made by travellers, a fact that may tempt others to book Iranair flights in the future.
"I believe the vast majority are now sceptical of media reporting and need to see things for themselves," he stated.
He noted that with some destinations, the only way to visit in the past was to work as a journalist or government official, but said many of these places are more open to jetsetters.
Those who visit Tehran may want to take a trip to the National Museum of Iran and the National Jewels Museum, which houses the Peacock Throne.
