Excelsis Airways, an ambitious new start-up airline, has announced that it will operate flights from Durham Tees Valley to London City Airport, from later this year.

Excelsis will operate a three-times daily service between the North Eas of England to central London flight bookings due to open on September 19th 2009. It will be launched as a premium service airline and will replace the BMI service between Durham Tees Valley and London Heathrow Airport which disappeared earlier this year.
