We have just incorporated the sale of
Eurostar train tickets into our price/availability display for flights and promoted the new capability through our "Deal of the Day" banner, this move has not been without controversy and debate ! One side of the argument says that it is a good move and fits with the ethos of Alternative Airlines to offer a better - and different - choice of travel options (plus its a green option - something we all support) but the other side says "but its not an airline". The marketing team were worried about the confusing message placed on the home page with "A better Choice of Flights" being above "Book Trains Now!" but the airline product manager won the day , as he should, as any one with "airline" in their job title who gets a train deal needs supporting for some outstanding out of the box thinking. Eurostar to now introduce a Steam train service and I think his smile would become permanently fixed in place.
