Eurostar - need to fly from London to Paris, Brussels, Avignon, Lille or Disneyland Paris? Try the train!
OK strictly it's not an Alternative Airline but Eurostar is an alternative to an airline and it's a green alternative, plus its very quick city centre to city centre and we have some excellent special fares which allied to an easy to book system make it an option worth considering if you are travelling between the points it serves. To get the best results on the availability/booking display use the special three letter codes which identify the Eurostar destinations. In the UK these are QQS for London St Pancreas International (note: arrive early as the architecture is inspiring and the atmosphere intoxicating, why is international rail travel so much more fun than international air travel ?), XQE for the intermediate stop at Ebbsfleet and QDH for the stop before the Channel Tunnel disappears below the ocean at Ashford. Once across the channel, Paris is XPG where you arrive at the quintessentially North Parisian, Gare du Nord; Lille is XDB, Brussels is ZYR; Avignon XZN and for the Disneyland Paris, the train stops at the park use XED.
E-tickets on Eurostar
Alternative Airlines has been granted permission to issue e-tickets on Eurostar from August 2011, so now we can quickly arrange you train journey as easily as one on any of the 500+ airlines on which we currently issue tickets. It's easy, we have competitive prices and we are encouraging more people to consider this option for their city to city travel between London, Paris and Brussels.
What to expect on Eurostar?
Eurostar has three on-board classes of travel, Standard where you get light meals and drinks from the buffet car; Standard Premier, where you get light meals and drinks served at your seat and Business Premier where you gets lots of perks, like priority check-in, lounges, more space around the larger seats, power by your seats plus meals and drinks served at your seat. Business Premier also comes with some interesting travelling companions, either to watch or converse with if that's what you wish to do!
Eurostar departs from London St Pancras International
St Pancras International is a tourist site in its own right as one of the most spectacular Victorian buildings in London. As well as the modern Eurostar facilities, many shops and restaurants, new for Spring 2011 is the St Pancras Renaissance London Hotel with 244 luxurious bedrooms this sits well alongside the romantic Champagne Bar alongside platform which is the perfect place to start.. or end.. a journey.
