COPA Airlines of Panama has transferred two Embraer E-190 aircraft to its sister company Aero Republica of Colombia.
This move will allow AeroRepublica to operate a 15 strong fleet of all E-190's after the retirement of its final MD-80 at the end of January 2010. COPA acquired AeroRepublica in 2005 and since the take-over the fleet of the Colombian airline has been gradually upgraded replacing older aircraft with the new type. At the same time, parent airline, COPA has also been upgrading its fleet of aircraft with new Boeing 737-700's, Boeing 737-800's and its own fleet of the popular Emb-190's.
