Visitors travelling to Havana on Cubana flights next month may want to consider entering a music competition.
The Cuban News Agency reports that from March 8th to 13th the city will host the 10th Drum Festival.
Sponsored by Cuban Music Institute and the Ignacio Pineiro Center, the event is dedicated to famous musician Guillermo Barreto.
People are invited to enter the competition, which has five different categories; drums, conga drums, bongos, drums pailas and bata drums.
The festival is set to take place at a number of sites including the Occidental Miramar Hotel, Palacio de la Rumba and Theatres Mella and Astral. National and international musicians will form the judging panel and the winner will be presented with instruments from each speciality and enrolment to the online Virtual Drummer School.
Elsewhere in March, Havana will host the Biennial Festival of Caribbean Dance with performances put on by regional choreographers and ballet dancers.
