As well as making themselves a more attractive proposition to prospective employers, jetsetting youngsters could also enjoy an "unforgettable experience" if they book flights to Kilimanjaro or other African locations, he suggested.
A recent study by Real Gap Experience revealed 61 per cent of employers polled felt a candidate who had travelled had demonstrated an ability to act independently.
