Individuals considering heading to Panama on COPA Airlines flights to purchase property in the Central American country may want to heed the advice of one expert, who said currency rates have a "huge impact" on prices.

Paul Collins, editor of BuyAssociation, noted that those who acquire property abroad should use specialist currency companies to ensure they get the best exchange rates.

According to the expert, many have forward contracts that enable buyers to fix the rates for either 18 months or two years in advance.

"As long as you know what you are investing in and when you will need that cash available, you can fix the exchange rate so that you know exactly how much it is going to cost you," he stated.
