A man in Vancouver is launching a new festival that may appeal to music fans visiting the city.

People flying with Air Transat to Vancouver this week may not want to miss out on the opportunity to catch one musical event.

Jonathan Fluevog is launching a new gathering - called Vogville's Day & Night festival - which will be held at Vancouver Alpen Club on Saturday February 19th, the Vancouver Sun reports.

At the event, he aims to showcase different acts from the area for people to discover throughout the day.

Mr Fluevog said he wants the occasion to be something everyone can enjoy.

"The city needs these events where bands can play to a larger amount of people. I saw this need for bands to be able to band together as a community and really expand," he continued.
