Vacationers looking for an exotic yet relaxing break might find what they are looking for if they book an Avianca flight to Colombia and head to Cartagena.
This is according to Carinthia West, who claimed in an article for the Daily Mail that the South American destination is an "oasis of calm".
Jet-setters who book flights to Bogota then head to Cartagena might be relieved to learn that it is also a very safe place for visitors who want to come and explore the country.
The city was made a World Heritage Site by Unesco in 1984 and it has a "cross-culture of African and Hispanic roots".
Commenting on her love of the destination, Ms West said: "Cartagena must be seen to be believed. Go quickly and go with an open heart, as Cartagena will surely embrace you, as it did us."
The city is famous for being the setting of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's Love in the Time of Cholera, but it also features in the hit 1984 film Romancing the Stone.
