Braathens

Braathens is a Norwegian airline, which since 2004 has been part of SAS, Scandinavian airlines.

Braathens & SAS

Braathens is one of the great names of European aviation but will now disappear, as it is completely absorbed into the mighty SAS, Scandinavian airlines organisation.

Braathens is no more

In 2007 SAS announced that they would fully merge Braathens into the SAS family. Making the name and Braathens brand disappear. Once a great long haul carrier - Brathens SAFE stood for "South American and Far East Air Transport" - the rapid changes in Scandinavian aviation has seen this famous name now disappear.
