Holidaymakers with a passion for the silver screen may want to consider heading to Belarus on Belavia flights this autumn for the Minsk International Film Festival.
The event, which is held in November, has become an annual celebration of the nation's film industry and last year it was chaired by Gennady Bronislavovich Davydko.
Among the films to be screened in 2010 were Oriental Pieces, My Happiness and St George Killing the Dragon.
This year will mark the 17th event, which the organisers claim has become "one of the most important and representative film forums of post-Soviet space".
Fans of movies from Eastern Europe may be keen to book their flights to Minsk for the festival, which showcases talent from Russia, Kazakhstan, the Czech Republic and of course Belarus.
According to Lonely Planet, the nation's capital offers a "surprising amount to visitors", particularly with regards to nightlife.
It added that travellers heading to Minsk may find that there is plenty of "cosmopolitan spark" in the city.
