Greece is the news.. Olympic and Aegean Airlines rumours of a merger

Its Friday afternoon after a long busy week with a Trade show, and an airline  launch and a new contract to market a growing  East African airline to the UK market , the main media has been dominated by the collapse of the Greek economy but in our sub world of airlines this has been augmented by a growing rumour that the two Greek airlines, Olympic AIr (the rump of national carrier, Olympic Airlines formed in autumn 2009) and the dynamic independent Aegean Airlines may be discussing a merger. We like to see lots of airlines, the more that fly, the more varied the choice for the discerning  passenger but sometimes the market place says that the time has come for two to become one  (2006 Spice Girls). This may be a good move for all concerned and we will keep our customers infomred as the rumours are revealed to be true or false.
