Britons planning to marry in the near future may be inclined to book flights to Costa Rica for their honeymoon, recent research has suggested.
According to a study by HolidayExtras.com, a secluded sandy cove is the preferred destination for those hoping for a romantic post-wedding getaway.
More than half of those polled said this would be their dream destination, adding that the spot would have to be overseas - a fact that may mean TACA flights grow in popularity with loved-up couples.
One of the most popular tourist destinations in Costa Rica is the Nicoya Peninsula, which has a large number of sandy stretches.
According to the online travel hub for the area, there are "innumerable magnificent beaches with dramatic coastal scenery".
Sean Hagger, head of commercial at the firm conducting the survey, commented: "Your honeymoon should be the happiest, most relaxing holiday of your life, so it's natural that people want to spend it in a happy, relaxing place where they're guaranteed sunshine."
