Avianca of Colombia is planning to raise new finance through the sale $246.5 million in bonds on the Colombian stock market.

This fund raising is intended to be used for the acquisition of new aircraft and pay off some outstanding debt. In 2007 Avianca signed a purchase order 33 Airbus A320 aircraft and five Airbus A330-200s with options for a further 27 Airbus A320’s and five rA330’s.Avianca also has 12 Boeing 787s on order.
