

Starting in May 2012, the national carrier of the Faroe Islands, Atlantic Airways, will start flying twice weekly between London Gatwick Airport and Vágar Airport in the Faroes. The new 2 hour 25 minutes long flights will operate every Monday and Thursday, from May 31 to September 17, with additional flights on April 4 and 9. Atlantic Airways have flown to London every summer since 2000 but have previously used London Stansted Airport. The Faroes islands are a popular holiday destination with wildlife lovers and outdoor enthusiasts with great opportunities for walking, bird-watching and adventure holidays.
