ATA airlines has a large network of scheduled services to Guadalajara, Cancun, Hilo, Lihue, Honolulu, Kona, Maui and more. Formerly known as American Transair, ATA Airlines is a large US based carrier with a code share arrangement with the mighty Southwest Airlines which allows it to connect its international flights to Hawaii with the Southwest domestic flights at Phoenix, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Ontario and Oakland.

ATA airlines is the major inbound carrier into the islands of Hawaii and also operates international scheduled services to Guadalajara and Cancun in Mexico. During 2007 with new services operating to Kona and Lihue, ATA Airlines serves more Hawaiian destinations non-stop from the mainland United States than any other airline.

ATA airlines use 24 Boeing 737 and Boeing 757 aircraft on its scheduled services plus a fleet of Tristar and DC-10 aircraft for its programme of military charter flights.

ATA goes bankrupt April 2008 Statement from ATA website:- After filing for Chapter 11 on April 2, 2008 in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Indianapolis, IN, ATA Airlines has discontinued all operations and cancelled all current and future flights. Following the loss of a key contract for our military charter business, it became impossible for ATA to continue operations.
