An independent Dutch airline is to start a direct Amsterdam to Kathmandu flight. Arke Fly is scheduled to land at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu on Wednesday 07/10/2009 using a Boeing 737 aircraft.
The service will continue to operate each Wednesday. There has been no direct flight between Nepal and Europe since Nepal Airlines -- which has no aircraft for long haul flights -- suspended its flights to Europe five years ago. Other European Airlines such as Austrian Airlines also suspended their direct flight to Kathmandu during the same period.
