According to Colin Harding, director of consultancy Latinform, the country is one of the top two nations in the continent for the grape-based beverage.
He asserted that visitors who take flights to Buenos Aires but who want to explore the wine region can book tours to visit the vineyards and meet the producers.
"The main wine-producing area in Argentina is Mendoza which is on the eastern slopes of the Andes," he stated.
One of the grapes the region is most famous for is Malbec, which is an inky dark colour.
Wines made from these grapes are often mixed with other varieties elsewhere in the world but are popular in their own right in Argentine beverages.
