Alternative Airlines likes to be different and whilst the competing on-line booking sites Expedia and Orbitz have either stopped selling or buried the flights of mega US carrier, American Airlines we are still showing the prices and availability of this award winning airline.

The dispute between these giants centres around how much is paid for the flight booking sites to access the seat inventory of the airline and how this access is achieved. All parties are crying "foul" in terms of what is and what isn't likely to enhance the choices made available to potential passengers. The
London Financial Times reports the arguments :- "Expedia said: “American Airlines’ direct connect model is of questionable, if any, benefit to travellers, would be costly to build and maintain and would compromise travel agents’ ability to provide travellers with the best selection,”. American argues that a direct connection to its website is vital for it to create a closer relationship with its customers that lets the carrier create tailored products that take into account things such as frequent flyer status."
The stance of Alternative Airlines is simple, we will continue to show American Airlines flights in the way we always have and if in the future there is a way to cut prices by using a direct connection to their inventory then we will do that. Alternative Airlines is about providing our customers with a wider and better choice of airlines. Our philosophy is in our name !
