In honour of a BBC expedition, which we helped to get to their destination in Papua New Guinea (using the wonderful Air Niugini) and seemingly fitting for a new and innovative enterprise like Alternative Airlines we have today adopted the "Bosavi Wooly Rat" as our official mascot.
Known in the office as "Moresby" the Bosavi Wooly Rat is a giant friendly
rat of a species previously unknown-to-science which has been just been captured on an extinct volcano in Papua New Guinea. It is is 82 cm from the tip of its nose to the end of its tail and it weighs in at a 1.5 kilos. And of course it has a lot of fur, hence ‘wooly’.
Tonight it will have a starring role in the new BBC wildlife documentary, ‘Lost Land of the Volcano’ and tomorrow it will be world famous !!
Welcome to Moresby !!
