Albanian Airlines can expect an increase in demand from tourists taking flights to Tirana, according to the country's tourism minister.
Endri Jorgoni, chief of cabinet in the Albanian Ministry of Culture and Tourism, said that the country is overdue a rise in tourism figures.
"Our expectations are based on the improvements we have [made to] infrastructure and improvements of the tourist environment in general," he claimed.
Meanwhile, a property expert in the country, Ravin Maharajah, said that tourism in Albania is going to "explode".
He claimed that travel specialists - like Albania Airlines - can expect the country to become a top tourist destination in the next five years, particularly if Albania manages to join the European Union in 2014.
Recently, a report from the Bank of Albania showed that property in the country is rising in value - despite the recent global economic downturn - which may tempt travellers to book flights to Tirana.
