In his inaugural address the new President of Peru announced the establishment of a new Peruvian national carrier to fly to international destinations not currently served by the independent carriers. The yet-to-be-named airline will compete with Peru's established carriers including indigenous ones like Star Peru, LC Busre and Peruvian airlines plus internationally owned airlines like TACA Peru and LAN Peru. We love hearing about new airlines starting-up and a new one with Government backing is a special occasion. Couple this with last month's exciting news that the plucky Peruvian airlines (see the attractive colour scheme on the attached photo) has been granted permissions to fly to 27 countries inside and outside of Latin America and Peru looks like an air travel market on the up. Macchu Picchu may be a site that past its sell-by date for serious travellers, but there are oh so many other sites in Peru which are undiscovered and equally unique.. a country worth visiting soon !
