Air Slovakia, based in Bratislava has ceased flying following the loss of its Air Operator's Certificate due to financial problems.
Air Slovakia had been operating 4 Boeing 737-300 aircraft and 1 Boeing 757-200. The carrier was a specialist in operating flights from the UK and Italy to Amritsar (India) via its base in Bratislava. Whilst the airline had been operating since 1993, Air Slovakia was more recently purchased by a UK based family in 2006, but has since struggled to find a profitable niche.
