Air Sahara

Air Sahara/Jet Lite

Air Sahara is owned by the Indian airline, Jet Airways, and trades under the name of Jet Lite and was one of the first to launch when the government de-regulated the Indian domestic marker in 1993.

Air Sahara Flight

Air Sahara/Jet Lite is a wholly owned subsidiary of Jet Airways, one of India’s largest privately owned airlines. Jet Lite flies to 28 airports including 2 international destinations with 108 daily direct flights and offers appx 16000 seats per day. The full domestic network involves all the major cities of India plus many of the regional towns and airports. Specifically the airlines flies to: Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Bangalore, Bhubaneswar, Chennai (hub), Coimbatore, New Delhi (hub), Dibrugarh, Goa, Gorakphur, Guwahati, Hyderabad (hub), Indore, Jaipur, Kochi, Kolkata (hub), Lucknow, Mumbai (hub), Nagpur, Patna, Pune, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvanathapuram, Varanasi and Visakhapatnam. Air Sahara/Jet Lite’s International destinations are Colombo and Kathmandu.

Air Sahara Flights in India

The past couple of years have been tough year for this plucky airline, which has been in the forefront of developing Indian’s fast growing market for passenger air travel. The recent takeover by Jet Airways means Air sahara/Jet Lite’s position will be between a low-fare and full service carrier.

The good news is that Air Sahara continues to be the major sponsor of the Indian cricket team - it must be worth considering them for your Indian air travel on this basis alone. But like choosing a good Indian restaurant - look for the one the locals use - Air Sahara/Jet Lite is definitely the airline of choice for domestic air travel in this fascinating, dynamic and sometimes over-whelming country. (Note: no apologies for this view being written from a terribly English perspective, what?)
