Just back from a flying visit to the head office of Air Niugini in Port Moresby.. 9000 miles each way and a memorable two days in this wonderful country. Papua New Guinea is buzzing with the profound economic impact of the PNG LNG (liqiud Natual Gas) project being felt in every corner of this growing city. Air Niugini too is reaping the benefits, with a strong management team and a growing fleet of very modern aircraft ( a total 20 by the end of October) the airline is operating with high load factors and a pricing strategy which allows the airline to re-invest in its future infrastructure.

Add that to impeccable on-board service, on time departures (I flew to port Moresby and back on one of the AIr Niugini Boeing 767's from Singapore) and a new livery .. and you've got a very special international airline in the making. I have no hesitation in recommending travelling on Air Niugini to anyone who has a reason to visit PNG.. in fact if you've haven't a reason the the very active TPA (Tourist Promotion Authority) of PNG will provide many.. a special thank you to their eloquent marketing manager, Leith, for the rapid trip around the delights of Port Moresby yesterday !
