Air New Zealand will commence a new Trans-Tasman service from Rotorua to Sydney from the 12th December 2009.
A twice weekly service will commence on 19 December opertaing initially on Saturdays and Mondays until the end of January, 2010 after which it will operate on Saturdays and Tuesdays. The new services will make Rotorua significantly more accessible for visitors from Asia and Europe who often visit both Australia and New Zealand and who can flydirectly from Sydney to Rotorua instead of via Auckland (or vice versa).
