What a great name for the newest low cost airline in the antipodes ! Air Australia is a the new branding for the airine which has up to now been called Strategic Airlines. With new flights from Honolulu to Brisbane and Melbourne starting in December, Air Australia is also planning to serve  the main trunk route from Brisbane to Melbourne domestic as well as Brisbane-Bali and Brisbane and Melbourne to Phuket. Strategic Airlines is a scheduled passenger and charter airline based in Brisbane, Australia and part of the group has two aircraft flying in Europe on charter programmes based around the requirements of UK tour operators. Strategic's background includes a history of moving Australian troops around the world and many short term leases for other airlines. The current state of the Australian Air travel market, with Tiger Airways grounded and Virgin Blue rebranding as Virgin Australia with the declared intention of moving into market space currently occupied by Qantas should mean there is room for Air Australia to expand.
