We will all be looking skywards today at 15:55 for the first appearance of Air Asia X's Airbus A340 as it arrives at Gatwick Airport for the first time inbound from Kuala Lumpur. Indications are that it is due to arrive 8 minutes early and the airport is buzzing in anticipation ! Long haul services from Gatwick are expanding with Vietnam Airlines coming here in December; Korean launching services to Seoul in the new year and the new Lufthansa flight to Frankfurt proving popular with travellers connecting onto their global services worldwide... All good for the local economy and for all our local travellers who prefer to start (or end) their journeys at Gatwick.
