1Time Airlineoperates a low cost operation from it’s two hubs in Johannesburg and Cape Town and operates to six airports in South Africa and one international route to Zanzibar in Tanzania. 1Time is part of Afrisource Holdings and commenced operations back in 2004 with flights operating Jo’burg-Cape Town-Jo’burg thus becoming South Africa’s genuine first low cost airline. Currently the airline operates flights from Jo’burg to Cape Town, Durban, George (Garden Route), Port Elizabeth and Zanzibar in Tanzania. From Cap Town flights operate to JNB, Durban, Port Elizabeth and East London. 1Time is a low cost operation and customers buy a basic low fare ticket which includes 20kg checked and one piece of cabin baggage up to 5kgs. Seats are assigned at check in (no extra cost) so there is no on board "bun fight" to get your seat of choice. Food and beverages are available onboard at additional cost. 1Time’s tickets are non-refundable if you choose to cancel and changes can be made subject to conditions and seat availability.

1Time is a good little carrier operating to the prime business and leisure airports within South Africa and also has a flight from Jo’burg to Zanzibar thrown in for good measure. 1Time is a point to point airline which means that if you have a connecting flight en route the airline will not be responsible for missed connections, whatever the reason. Our advice would be to leave plenty of time between flights and perhaps consider some sort of travel insurance that may cover this eventuality as well as cancellation cover.
1Time hasn’t expanded as quickly as some airlines, it has followed a proven recipe for success and continues to grow with new routes being added on a regular basis. Passenger numbers have grown steadily too and unlike many airlines established in 2004 1Time is still in business and doing very nicely thank you! Why the name 1Time ? In South Africa, the phrase "one time!" is a colloquialism meaning "for real!" and this airline really is "for real". This low cost airline sits perfectly within the Alternative Airlines portfolio of low cast carriers. We strongly recommend that you give them serious consideration next time you travel by air within South Africa. We don’t think you will be disappointed.
