Airkenya is one of the most exciting airlines operating in East Africa.
The airline is based at Nairobi's second airport, WIlson Airport, which is conveniently situated just, 4 kilometres south of the centre of the City. Used mainly by business traffic and privately chartered general aviation passenger, Wilson's relaxed and efficient atmosphere contrasts greatly with the noise and chaos of Nairobi's major international hub at Jomo Kenyatta International.
Airkenya was awarded a well deserved Air Operator of the Year at the inaugural Kenya Tourism Awards on 23rd June 2011 and has a crucial part to play in the growing Kenyan tourist industry.
Airkenya's route network encompasses eight domestic destinations plus one very important international service to the Tanzania airport of world class trekking destination, Kilimanjaro. Within Kenya this dynamic, well managed airline flies to:
- Amboseli (the regional airport for the Amboseli Rift Valley National Park);
- Diani (drop off airport for the beautiful Indian Ocean coastal resort of Diani Beach);
- Lamu (on Lamu Island which contains the world famous, world heritage site of Lamu town, once popular for honeymooners and back packers but currently suffering from fear of further tourist abductions);
- Malindi (a ancient Swahili settlement in the deep south of Kenya which is very popular with tourists):

- Meru Aiprort (a central Kenyan city which is the main gateway for the parks of Samburu,Buffalo Springs National Reserves and Lewa Downs);
- Nanyuki ( a market town which is the main airbase of the Kenya Air Force and home to a British Army training base) and Samburu Airport ( used for entry to the Samburu National Reserve which was one of the areas in where George and Joy Adamson raised Elsa featured in the film 'Born Free'.)
